GILROY LIBRARY RE-OPENING DELAYED

There has been a delay in the Gilroy Library's move into its temporary location:

7652 Monterey Street (Between 3rd and 4th St.) , Gilroy

We expect to re-open by mid- February 2010.

Worried about overdue materials?
Items checked out at the Gilroy Library and due February 2, 2010 have had their due dates extended to March 2, 2010. You may also return items to the Morgan Hill Library.

WHY THE MOVE?
In 2008, the citizens of Gilroy voted to build a new library. During construction, the library will move to a temporary site downtown for about 2 years.

Library Holds and Returns

HOLDS
Holds can be sent to the Morgan Hill Library for pickup. You may also choose to do the following:

  • Change the pickup location of your hold to another Santa Clara County library.
  • Make your holds inactive. You will keep your place on the hold queue. Reactivate your hold when the library reopens.

RETURNS
Between December 2nd and the reopening of the library at the temporary facility, return items to Morgan Hill Library or Bookmobile or keep them at home.

BOOKMOBILE
Bookmobile has regular stops in South County.

In defense of food: an eater's manifesto by Michael Pollan is the Silicon Valley Reads selection for 2010.

The children's companion books are Seedfolks by Paul Fleischman and Tops & Bottoms by Janet Stevens.

David Mas Masumoto is a writer, artist and farmer. His latest book is Wisdom of the Last Farmer: Harvesting Legacies from the Land. Masumoto's Epitaph for a Peach: Four Seasons on My Family Farm was chosen as the Silicon Valley Reads' 2005 selection. He also wrote Harvest Son, Planting Roots in American Soils.
